HUXmesh FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We don't make AI. We make AI behave.

Q: What is HUXmesh?

A: HUXmesh is patent-pending network-layer middleware that sits between you and any AI platform (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, DeepSeek, Perplexity). It inspects every prompt you send and every response you receive, enforcing governance rules and generating tamper-evident receipts for every interaction.

Q: What does 'We don't make AI, we make AI behave' mean?

A: We're not building another AI. We're building the safety layer that governs ALL AI. HUXmesh works with every major AI platform—we make sure they follow rules, protect your data, and remain accountable to you.

Q: Who is HUXmesh for?

A: Anyone using AI who wants protection and accountability: families protecting kids online, small businesses handling customer data, schools ensuring academic integrity, churches and nonprofits, healthcare offices, legal firms, and enterprise organizations needing compliance documentation.

Q: What AI platforms does HUXmesh work with?

A: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, DeepSeek, Perplexity, Mistral, and any AI that communicates over HTTPS. If you can access it in a browser or through an API, HUXmesh can govern it.

Q: How does HUXmesh actually work?

A: HUXmesh runs as a local proxy on your device. All AI traffic routes through it automatically. Before your prompt reaches the AI, HUXmesh checks for PII leakage, jailbreak attempts, and policy violations. Before the AI's response reaches you, it checks for manipulation, unsafe advice, and data exfiltration. Every interaction generates a cryptographic receipt.

Q: What is the KeyCard?

A: The HUXmesh KeyCard is a portable USB device pre-loaded with the governance software and your license. Plug it into any Windows PC, and protection starts in 60 seconds. No installation required. Take it between home and office, or keep one at each location.

Q: Do I need technical skills to use HUXmesh?

A: No. The KeyCard is truly plug-and-play. Insert the USB, double-click the launcher, and you're protected. The software handles all the technical details—proxy configuration, certificate installation, and governance enforcement happen automatically.

Q: Does HUXmesh slow down my AI interactions?

A: Milliseconds. Governance checks happen in milliseconds. Most users notice no difference in response time. The peace of mind is worth far more than any imperceptible delay.

Q: What are the Six Laws of AI Governance?

A: LAW 1 (HIP): Human In Power—human authority is absolute and non-negotiable. LAW 2 (NHH): Never Harm Humans—AI must never cause or facilitate harm. LAW 3 (TRANS): Transparency—AI must always identify itself as AI. LAW 4 (DNHTH): Do Not Herd The Human—AI must never manipulate, nudge, or steer. LAW 5 (TRUTH): AI must never present unverified claims as fact. LAW 6 (NMW): No Matter What—human will cannot be modified by any AI action.

Q: How does HUXmesh enforce these laws?

A: Through pattern detection and behavioral analysis on both input and output. For example: if an AI tries to make a decision FOR you instead of advising you (violating HIP), HUXmesh flags or blocks it. If an AI uses fear, urgency, or social pressure to manipulate you (violating DNHTH), HUXmesh catches it. Every enforcement decision is logged with the specific law violated. If an human asks for ways to kill themselves we block that question before it ever gets to the AI.

Q: What is PII protection?

A: HUXmesh detects personally identifiable information before it leaves your device: Social Security numbers (with SSA validation), credit card numbers (with Luhn validation), phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, IP addresses, and bank account numbers. We can block PII entirely or have it automatically redacted before reaching the AI.

Q: What is Shadow AI Detection?

A: HUXmesh logs every AI platform accessed through your network. If someone (or some software) starts using an unauthorized AI service, you'll know. If more than three unknown AI hosts are detected, the kill switch activates automatically.

Q: What is the Session Trust Score?

A: A running health metric (0-100) that tracks the safety of your AI session. Clean interactions maintain or raise your score. Violations lower it. When your score drops below thresholds, you receive warnings. It's a real-time indicator of how safely AI is being used.

Q: What is the Grace Period?

A: Educational mode for new users. Instead of just blocking violations, HUXmesh explains WHY something was flagged, teaching the Six Laws naturally through use. After the grace period, enforcement tightens—but you'll understand the rules by then.

Q: What are governance receipts?

A: Cryptographic proof of every AI interaction. Each receipt contains: timestamp, platform, action taken (pass/flag/block), risk level (Green/Yellow/Red), what was checked, any violations found, and a SHA-256 hash linking to the previous receipt. The chain is tamper-evident—change one receipt and the entire chain breaks. This holds up in any court system.

Q: How does the receipt chain work?

A: Each receipt's hash includes the previous receipt's hash, creating an unbroken chain back to a genesis block. This is the same technology behind blockchain, applied to AI governance. Any modification to any receipt is immediately detectable by running the verification command.

Q: What regulations does HUXmesh help with?

A: Every receipt is auto-tagged with applicable frameworks: EU AI Act, GDPR, CCPA, FERPA, FTC Section 5. While HUXmesh doesn't guarantee compliance, due to change and inconsistencies the snap show sets true. HUXmesh provides the documentation and enforcement layer that regulators and auditors need to see.

Q: Can I export my receipts for audits?

A: Yes. Receipts are stored in standard JSON Lines format at ~/.thp/receipts.jsonl. You can export, archive, or submit them to auditors. The verification tool confirms chain integrity independently.

Q: How does HUXmesh protect children?

A: Multiple layers: CSAM content detection (multilingual), manipulation pattern blocking, PII protection for minors, educational mode that teaches safe AI use, and configurable content filtering. Parents can review session logs and trust scores.

Q: Can I see what AI interactions my kids are having?

A: Yes. All interactions are logged with receipts. You can review what prompts were sent, what responses came back, and what (if anything) was flagged or blocked. The Session Trust Score gives you an at-a-glance indicator of safe usage.

Q: How does HUXmesh help my business?

A: Prevents employees from accidentally leaking customer or business PII to AI platforms. Documents AI usage for compliance audits. Blocks manipulation and unsafe advice that could create liability. Provides proof of governance for insurance, legal, and regulatory purposes.

Q: Does HUXmesh work with AI agents and automation?

A: Yes. HUXmesh governs at the network layer, so it works with any agent framework: OpenClaw, CrewAI, AutoGen, LangChain, and others. Set the HTTPS_PROXY environment variable and all API calls route through governance automatically. No code changes required.

Q: What about enterprise deployment?

A: Enterprise tier includes multi-seat licensing, centralized policy management, custom governance rules, priority support, and compliance documentation packages. Contact enterprise@HUXmesh.com for volume pricing and deployment assistance.

Q: What product tiers are available?

A: Personal ($299): 1 device, lifetime license. Family ($499): up to 5 devices, lifetime license. $799 up to 10 family lifetime license KeyCard Personal ($299): portable USB for 2 device. KeyCard Plus ($399): portable USB for 2 devices. KeyCard Pro ($499): portable USB for 4 devices. Enterprise: custom pricing for organizations.

Q: Is this a subscription?

A: No. All licenses are one-time purchases with lifetime access to v2.2.1.x updates. No monthly fees. No per-seat recurring costs. You own it forever. Subscription available with over 10 seats.

Q: What's the difference between software and KeyCard?

A: The software license is tied to specific devices. The KeyCard is portable—plug it into any Windows PC and protection starts. KeyCards are ideal for people who move between computers or want a physical device they control.

Q: What platforms does HUXmesh run on?

A: Windows 10/11 currently. Mac support is on the v1.x roadmap. Linux support is planned for v2.0. The KeyCard works with any Windows PC with a USB port.

Q: Does HUXmesh require internet access?

A: HUXmesh itself runs locally and doesn't phone home. It only sees traffic between you and AI platforms—which obviously requires internet. Your governance data stays on your HUXmesh KeyCard unless you choose to export it.

Q: Is my data sent to The Hat Protocol?

A: No. All governance happens locally on your device. We never see your prompts, responses, or receipts. Your data is yours. Period.

Q: What if HUXmesh blocks something I need?

A: You can review why it was blocked, adjust sensitivity settings, or whitelist specific patterns. You're always in control. HUXmesh advises and enforces—but you make the final call. Human In Power. No Matter What.

Q: Who makes HUXmesh?

A: The Hat Protocol Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Founded by Mr. C and Michele, built to bring enterprise AI governance to Main Street—not just Wall Street.

Q: Is HUXmesh open source?

A: No. The governance engine is proprietary and patent-pending. We believe in transparency about WHAT the software does (this FAQ, the README, the AIBOM manifest, the receipt chain)—but not in giving away the tools that protect people. We're building a business that can sustain long-term development and support.

Q: How do I get support?

A: Documentation at thehatprotocol.com/docs. Email support@HUXmesh.com. Emergency proxy recovery via RECOVER.bat on your KeyCard. Enterprise customers get priority response at enterprise@HUXmesh.com.

Q: When does the Kickstarter launch?

A: March 11, 2026. Early backers get discounted pricing and founding member status. Follow us for updates and be first in line.
